Organizational Change Manager  • Jeffco Public Schools • 2019-present

  • Design and facilitate the human side of change in projects related to business processes, systems, and technologies for the second largest school district in Colorado, which includes 157 schools, employs 14,000 individuals, and educates approximately 80,000 students.
  • Play a critical role in key projects such as the development and implementation of a district-wide one-to-one device program, COVID response and recovery, and the transition away from a custom-built student information system.
  • Develop change management and communications best practices, tools, templates, and tactics. Implement those to maximize adoption, minimize business disruption, and ensure the long-term success of projects.
  • Act as an internal consultant across multiple projects and departments for all levels of the organization, including project sponsors, senior leaders, and directors of functional teams, as they lead through transition.

 

Digital Media Specialist  • Jeffco Public Schools • 2016-2019

  • Created, implemented, and measured the success of a digital media strategy to increase awareness of and provide information about Jeffco Public Schools, the second largest school district in Colorado.
  • Led the redesign of the district’s public website (500+ pages) and the district’s intranet (80+ Google sites into one new site). Facilitated and served as a co-project manager of the redesign process for 153 school websites.
  • Managed content on the district’s public website that experienced an average of 8.5 million page views from 1.6 million visitors each year. Oversaw the work of 70+ editors on this website.
  • Convened and directed the work of a cross departmental web governance committee that set policies, guidelines, and best practices for websites, mobile apps, and social media use across the district.
  • Oversaw district social media channels including a Facebook page with 13,000+ fans and a Twitter account with 9,500 followers. Started a district Instagram account.

  • Developed, implemented, and measured the success of an integrated marketing, communications, and public relations plan for a SaaS company providing email optimization tools for companies such as Toyota, Hilton, The New York Times, and Coca-Cola.
  • Managed a team of four direct reports who achieved a 20 percent increase in product subscriptions, 70 percent increase in email list subscribers, and an average of 55 percent increase in social media followers during my tenure.
  • Facilitated collaborative partnerships with companies in the industry—ranging from writing guest blog posts to cohosting webinars and co-publishing guides—resulting in 19 projects.
  • Managed the marketing budget, which included the work of external contractors for public relations, graphic design, SEO, and paid advertising.

 

Communications Manager • LiveWell Colorado • 2014–2015

  • Created and executed multi-channel communications strategies for a wide range of initiatives ranging from policy support to social marketing to fundraising campaigns for a statewide nonprofit committed to increasing healthy eating and active living.
  • Engaged and grew a robust social media community of 65,000+ Facebook fans, 3,500+ Twitter followers, 2,900+ Pinterest followers, and a private Facebook group for LiveWell Moms.
  • Created, curated content for, and published one quarterly and three monthly e-newsletters and two blogs.
  • Provided communications training and support for the organization’s strategic partners and coalitions.
  • Oversaw external contractors for public relations, website development, creative strategy, and graphic design work.

  • Performed all communications, public relations, and marketing functions for a Denver-area nonprofit serving women, their children, and transgender individuals experiencing homelessness and poverty.
  • Wrote, edited, designed, and managed the production of agency materials including press releases, fact sheets, executive speeches, editorial pieces, monthly e-newsletters, quarterly print newsletters, annual reports, brochures, event invitations, fundraising requests, and various other marketing collateral.
